Welcome to my book giveaway page. Below are listed books I found to be
valuable enough to acquire at bargain basement prices in order to give them
away. Not being altruistic about this, I expect recipients to pay it forward
in one way or another.
Caveat Emptor, of course. Some of these books are beaten up, much as you'd
expect having survived multiple garage sales. I don't expect to hear any
grousing over condition, or even how long it takes to get them in the mail,
since this is a giveaway.
About postage: the first couple of times I did this, I paid all the postage. Times
have changed. Now I'm asking for donations. You can either send me a couple of
bucks, or wait until you receive the books and send the exact postage. Note: don't
send **anything** until I've acknowledged your order and tell you what I'm sending!
I don't want you to send money and then me have to send it back if I'm out of what
you requested.
Again, postage is a donation - it's okay if you don't send anything at all back
to me, as long as you pay it forward somewhere else . . . . .
Most of the distribution will be first come, first served. I reserve the right
to be discriminating, especially if someone requests the whole list. All it
takes to be considered for distribution is to identify yourself and
send me a mailing address.
Please tell me the titles in which you are interested. I cannot control what
you do with these books, of course, but I prefer this is for your personal
consumption and edification.
And, lastly, I will make every effort to promptly mark books as unavailable as
soon after I ship as possible, so you are not asking for books I no longer have.
On to the Booklist!!
Carl Sandburg's Abraham Lincoln, vols 1-3 (paperback) (don't need them now that I've become a southern sympathizer)
The Day of the Jackal, Frederick Forsyth
Hunt for Red October, Tom Clancy
Douglas Adams:
The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
      Life, The Universe, and Everything
So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish
Alas, Babylon, Pat Frank
Robert Heinlein:
      Green Hills of Earth
      Friday
What Color Is Your Parachute, Richard Nelson Bolles, 1999 (2 copies) and 2000 editions
I also still have a few copies of the Utne Reader Y2K Citizen's Action Guide. Very good booklets on personal and communitywide preparedness, and tips
on organizing community actions.
Again, all you have to do is identify yourself and
send me a mailing address to have a
chance to get a free book in the mail. Those who have received books from me
previously can vouch for my effort.
As more books become available I will post notice on Cory's site. Thanx to all
who are interested in acquiring good books, and feel free to visit and comment
on the rest of my site.
